Greetings. How are you today? Good? I'm so
pleased. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jamie Mackenzie Lester. Yes it is
a boys name and yes I am a girl. I thought I should clear that up first of all
because I often get mistaken as one. Obviously not based on my jaw dropping;
heart lurching, good looks of course. For all those haters out there here is a
close up of my forehead, so you guys feel a bit more familiar with me. It's a
pretty profound forehead I have to admit...
...So a little bit about my self! I'm currently
still in education, and go to the same sixth form as the other fine ladies on
this blog. I have done all my GCSEs and I'm doing my A levels now. I'm studying
A2 Art Textiles, Biology and Chemistry. Such fun! I live in England in the
county of Kent with my mum dad and amazing sister.
I've recently been on a school expedition to Uganda,
and seen some pretty eye opening things and also bought some traditional
African fabrics (I'll post some pictures of them is you are interested). Last
year during the summer holidays I went on a weeks work experience at Stephan
Walters & Sons silk mill, who work with high profile designers such as
Gucci, Paul Smith, Dior and Chanel. During my time there I worked on a some ideas for anew collection for Paul Smith and he actually, recently bought one of my stripe designs which he is going to use in his spring/summer collection 2016. If you want a post about my time there and
all the things I learnt I am more than happy to.
I love, love, LURVE shopping and anything to do
with fashion. I also enjoy keeping fit as the gym is my personal escape from
the world. Like almost all the girls I am a working woman, however I'm the only
one working in retail. This is a curse and a blessing as I am able to get my
hands on lots of clothes, however it does mean I just spend my hard earned
money at the shop. My star sign is cancer, since the other girls have put
theirs in their intro I feel like I should as well, I'm not normally a
conformist I promise. Like the girls love to read, anything from Vampire dramas to Jane Austen novels.
As you
will begin to realise through out our time together, I am a weird and wonderful
creature that is not very organised and easily distracted, but I think you'll
find my blog contribution interesting and if not then ignore me I won't be
offended; much.
Now you
know a bit about me, let me break it down what you can expect from me; apart
from my incredible humour and wit. I will be posting every Monday (hopefully).
My posts will be short tutorials/step by step guides on a textile techniques or
craft or anything that's easy to do in your own home that may be useful to you.
Sometimes I might mix it up and post something about fashion if you so wish. It
will start off with random posts of random things but if you've got a specific
thing that you want to learn or you're not sure on please, PLEASE contact me (jamielester521@gmail.com)
or comment and I'll have a go, because I love trying new techniques and it may
be useful to other readers as well. Also as I'm studying an art A level, as I
have mentioned, so if you want any advice or tips that will help you along the
way in your journey I'm more than willing to.
I am on Pinterest and you are welcome to follow
me, it's the same email and my name is Jamie Lester. If you've never heard of
Pinterest before, it's a great way to gather ideas and inspiration for projects
and I would really recommend it if you are doing an Art qualification.
And on that
note let the adventure commence! 💃
